BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE:
* Inform your Doctor or Pharmacist if you are allergic to any prescription or
non-prescription medicine; taking other medicines or have other medical
problems; pregnant planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
* Check with your Doctor Pharmacists or Nurse if information in this
leaflet causes you special concern or if you want additional information
about your medicine and its use.
COMMON USES FOR THIS MEDICINE:
1- For the treatment of ACUTE LOWER RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS
2- For the treatment of URINARY TRACT INFECTION
3- For the treatment of GASTRO INTESTINAL INFECTIONS
4- For the treatment of BONE INFECTIONS (OSTEOMYELITIS PERIOSTITIS ETC.)
5- For the treatment of SEPTICEMIA
6- For the treatment of PERITONITIS
7- For the treatment of LOCAL INFECTIONS OF SKIN AND SUBCUTANEOUS TISSUE
8- For the treatment of MENINGOCOCCAL MENINGITIS
It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor
HOW TO USE THIS MEDICINE:
Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label unless instructed
differently by your doctor
* Use this medicine for the full prescribed treatment period.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU MISS A DOSE:
Take when remembered unless time for next dose. No double doses.
HOW TO STORE THIS MEDICINE:
Keep in original closed container in a dark cool and dry place away from
children. Discard unneeded medicine.
STOP TAKING THIS MEDICINE AND GET EMERGENCY HELP IMMEDIATELY IF ANY OF THE
FOLLOWING OCCURS (SEE SYMPTOMS BELOW):
Shortness of breath fast or irregular breathing fever joint pain fast
pulse lightheadedness or fainting swelling of face hives & itching.
CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY IF YOU EXPERIENCE:
Hearing loss ear ringing unsteadiness; Changes in urination frequency or
amount; Dizziness; Skin rash; Jerkings of face trunk or extremities;
Decreased appetite; Drowsiness; Difficulty breathing; Itching; Nausea;
Swelling; Increased thirst; Vomiting; Muscle weakness.
OTHER SIDE EFFECTS:
Unusual tiredness or weakness; Abnormal blood cell count.
If symptoms are mild but do not go away or are bothersome check with your
doctor. IF ANY OF THE ABOVE SIDE EFFECTS IS SEVERE CALL YOUR DOCTOR
IMMEDIATELY.
PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS:
* STOP TAKING MEDICINE & GET EMERGENCY HELP IMMEDIATELY IF A
HYPERSENSITIVITY OR ANAPHYLACTIC REACTION occurs: (see symptoms below):-
* shortness of breath fast or irregular breathing fever joint pain fast
pulse lightheadedness or fainting swelling of face hives & itching.
* To prevent drug resistance this medication should be used to treat
BACTERIAL INFECTIONS ONLY. It is not effective against viral infections.
* This medicine is CONTRAINDICATED for use during pregnancy. CALL YOUR DOCTOR
IMMEDIATELY IF PREGNANT or intend to become pregnant.
