BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE:
* Inform your Doctor or Pharmacist if you are allergic to any prescription or
non-prescription medicine; taking other medicines or have other medical
problems; pregnant planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
* Check with your Doctor Pharmacists or Nurse if information in this
leaflet causes you special concern or if you want additional information
about your medicine and its use.
* Inform your doctor if you have any of these conditions : HEART CONDITION or
HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE; SEIZURES; ANEMIA; SICKLE CELL DISEASE; HEMOPHILIA.
COMMON USES FOR THIS MEDICINE:
1- For the treatment of ANEMIA UNSPECIFIED in patients with Chronic Renal
Failure (CRF).
2- For the treatment of ANEMIA UNSPECIFIED in patients receiving
chemotherapy.
HOW TO USE THIS MEDICINE:
Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label unless instructed
differently by your doctor
* DO NOT SHAKE.
* The patient may self-administer the INJECTION. Follow doctors instructions
for administration and proper disposal of syringes and needles carefully.
* PRESERVATIVE FREE formulation: Use immediately after reconstitution.
* Take IRON supplements as directed by your physician.
* Multiple-dose formulation contain BENZYL ALCOHOL as a preservative. DO NOT
USE if you had a history of allergic reaction to BENZYL ALCOHOL.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU MISS A DOSE:
If you miss a dose you should contact your doctor to find out what to do.
HOW TO STORE THIS MEDICINE:
Store at 2? to 8? C (36? to 46? F). Do not freeze or shake.
CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY IF YOU EXPERIENCE:
High blood pressure; Difficulty breathing; Fever; Burning pain tingling or
numbness; Skin rash.
OTHER SIDE EFFECTS:
Cough; Diarrhea; Headache; Antibody formation; Joint pain; Nausea; Vomiting.
If symptoms are mild but do not go away or are bothersome check with your
doctor. IF ANY OF THE ABOVE SIDE EFFECTS IS SEVERE CALL YOUR DOCTOR
IMMEDIATELY.
PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS:
* Safety of use during pregnancy has not been established. This medicine
SHOULD NOT BE USED DURING PREGNANCY unless benefit justifies potential risk
to the fetus. CALL YOUR DOCTOR.
* This medicine SHOULD NOT BE USED during pregnancy UNLESS the potential
benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
* It is not known if this drug is excreted in breast milk. Notify your doctor
if you are breastfeeding.
* Do not use if solution changes color becomes cloudy or if it contains
solid particles.
* It is important that your doctor monitors your BLOOD CELL COUNTS at regular
intervals.
* Improvement may take 2-4 weeks or longer.
* It is important that you do not stop taking your medications without
consulting your doctor.
* It is important that you keep your follow-up appointments with your doctor.
