BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE:
* Inform your Doctor or Pharmacist if you are allergic to any prescription or
non-prescription medicine; taking other medicines or have other medical
problems; pregnant planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
* Check with your Doctor Pharmacists or Nurse if information in this
leaflet causes you special concern or if you want additional information
about your medicine and its use.
* Inform your doctor if you have any of these conditions : LIVER PROBLEMS;
HEART CONDITION.
COMMON USE FOR THIS MEDICINE:
1- For the treatment of BLASTOMYCOSIS
2- For the treatment of HISTOPLASMOSIS
3- For the treatment of ASPERGILLOSIS in patients who are intolerant or
refractory to amphotericin B therapy.
4- For the treatment of FUNGUS INFECTION OF THE TOENAIL OR FINGERNAIL DUE TO
DERMATOPHYTES of the toenails with or without fingernail involvement.
5- For the treatment of FUNGAL (YEAST) INFECTION OF THE MOUTH (Oral Thrush)
6- For the treatment of FUNGAL INFECTION OF THE ESOPHAGUS
It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor
HOW TO USE THIS MEDICINE:
Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label unless instructed
differently by your doctor
* Take this medicine WITH food a meal or a snack. Do not take on an empty
stomach.
* ORAL SOLUTION: Take without food if possible. Swish in mouth for several
seconds and swallow.
* DO NOT interchange between capsule & solution.
* DO NOT TAKE WITH ANTACIDS; if antacids are required delay administration
by two hours.
* Continue treatment until clinical and laboratory tests no longer indicate
presence of ACTIVE INFECTION to avoid early recurrence of clinical symptoms.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU MISS A DOSE:
Take when remembered unless time for next dose. No double doses.
HOW TO STORE THIS MEDICINE:
Keep in original container in a cool dry place away from children. Dont
freeze. Discard unneeded medicine.
STOP TAKING THIS MEDICINE AND GET EMERGENCY HELP IMMEDIATELY IF ANY OF THE
FOLLOWING OCCURS (SEE SYMPTOMS BELOW):
Swelling usually of face or lips.
CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY IF YOU EXPERIENCE:
Skin rash; Itching; Difficulty breathing; Swelling of feet or lower legs;
Yellowing of eyes or skin.
OTHER SIDE EFFECTS:
Nausea; Stomach discomfort or pain; Headache; Decreased appetite; Diarrhea;
Dizziness; Unusual tiredness or weakness; Sleepiness; Vomiting.
If symptoms are mild but do not go away or are bothersome check with your
doctor.
PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS:
* Safety of use during pregnancy has not been established. This medicine
SHOULD NOT BE USED DURING PREGNANCY unless benefit justifies potential risk
to the fetus. CALL YOUR DOCTOR.
* Because of INTERACTIONS report the use of any other prescription or
nonprescription medicines including natural/herbal remedies to your doctor.
* Notify doctor of any signs suggesting LIVER problems (eg unusual fatigue
loss of appetite nausea vomiting yellowing of eyes dark urine).
* Notify doctor if symptoms of CHF occur (eg difficult breathing especially
