BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE:
* Inform your Doctor or Pharmacist if you are allergic to any prescription or
non-prescription medicine; taking other medicines or have other medical
problems; pregnant planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
* Check with your Doctor Pharmacists or Nurse if information in this
leaflet causes you special concern or if you want additional information
about your medicine and its use.
COMMON USE FOR THIS MEDICINE:
1- For the treatment of DEFICIENCY OF B-COMPLEX COMPONENTS
2- For the treatment of FOLATE-DEFICIENCY ANEMIA
3- For the treatment of PERNICIOUS ANEMIA
4- For the treatment of IRON DEFICIENCY ANEMIAS
HOW TO USE THIS MEDICINE:
Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label unless instructed
differently by your doctor
* Swallow whole unless otherwise directed by your physician. DO NOT crush or
chew sustained release preparations.
* Take this medicine on an EMPTY stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after
meals. If stomach upset occurs take with food.
* DO NOT TAKE WITH ANTACIDS; if antacids are required delay administration
by two hours.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU MISS A DOSE:
Take when remembered unless time for next dose. No double doses.
HOW TO STORE THIS MEDICINE:
Keep in original closed container in a dark cool and dry place away from
children. Discard unneeded medicine.
STOP TAKING THIS MEDICINE AND GET EMERGENCY HELP IMMEDIATELY IF ANY OF THE
FOLLOWING OCCURS (SEE SYMPTOMS BELOW):
Shortness of breath fast or irregular breathing fever joint pain fast
pulse lightheadedness or fainting swelling of face hives & itching.
CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY IF YOU EXPERIENCE:
Pulmonary edema; Severe skin itching with patches; Skin rash; Itching.
OTHER SIDE EFFECTS:
Nausea; Stomach discomfort or pain; Diarrhea; Feeling of general discomfort;
Gas; Hot sensation and redness of face; Stomach or intestinal irritation;
Vomiting.
If symptoms are mild but do not go away or are bothersome check with your
doctor. IF ANY OF THE ABOVE SIDE EFFECTS IS SEVERE CALL YOUR DOCTOR
IMMEDIATELY.
PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS:
* Safety of use during pregnancy has not been established. This medicine
SHOULD NOT BE USED DURING PREGNANCY unless benefit justifies potential risk
to the fetus. CALL YOUR DOCTOR.
* This medication may cause discolored stools.
* DO NOT TAKE any tetracycline antibiotics within 1 to 2 hours of this drug
because the iron can interfere with tetracycline absorption.
