ETIDRONATE DISODIUM TABLET 200MG

BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE:
* Inform your Doctor or Pharmacist if you are allergic to any prescription or
non-prescription medicine; taking other medicines or have other medical
problems; pregnant planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
* Check with your Doctor Pharmacists or Nurse if information in this
leaflet causes you special concern or if you want additional information
about your medicine and its use.
* Inform your doctor if you have any of these conditions : KIDNEY DISEASE; If
you are PREGNANT.
COMMON USE FOR THIS MEDICINE:
1- For the treatment and prevention of HETEROTOPIC CALCIFICATION AND
OSSIFICATION OF MUSCLE following total hip replacement.
2- For the treatment and prevention of HETEROTOPIC CALCIFICATION AND
OSSIFICATION OF MUSCLE caused by spinal cord injury.
3- For the symptomatic treatment of PAGETS DISEASE OF BONE
HOW TO USE THIS MEDICINE:
Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label unless instructed
differently by your doctor
* Take this medication two hours before a meal with water or juice.
* DO NOT eat food consume dairy products take antacids or vitamins with
mineral supplements for two hours after dose.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU MISS A DOSE:
Take when remembered unless time for next dose. No double doses.
HOW TO STORE THIS MEDICINE:
Keep in original closed container in a dark cool and dry place away from
children. Discard unneeded medicine.
STOP TAKING THIS MEDICINE AND GET EMERGENCY HELP IMMEDIATELY IF ANY OF THE
FOLLOWING OCCURS (SEE SYMPTOMS BELOW):
Shortness of breath fast or irregular breathing fever joint pain fast
pulse lightheadedness or fainting swelling of face hives & itching.
CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY IF YOU EXPERIENCE:
Difficulty breathing; Fluid retention; Jerkings of face trunk or
extremities.
OTHER SIDE EFFECTS:
Nausea; Fever; Change in taste; Constipation; Low phosphorus level; Low
magnesium level; Diarrhea.
If symptoms are mild but do not go away or are bothersome check with your
doctor. IF ANY OF THE ABOVE SIDE EFFECTS IS SEVERE CALL YOUR DOCTOR
IMMEDIATELY.
PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS:
* STOP TAKING MEDICINE & GET EMERGENCY HELP IMMEDIATELY IF A
HYPERSENSITIVITY OR ANAPHYLACTIC REACTION occurs: (see symptoms below):-
* shortness of breath fast or irregular breathing fever joint pain fast
pulse lightheadedness or fainting swelling of face hives & itching.
* There are no adequate or well-controlled safety studies in pregnant women.
NOTIFY YOUR DOCTOR IF PREGNANT or intend to become pregnant.
* Improvement may take at least 3 months and may continue even after the drug
has stopped.
