BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE:
* Inform your Doctor or Pharmacist if you are allergic to any prescription or
non-prescription medicine; taking other medicines or have other medical
problems; pregnant planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
* Check with your Doctor Pharmacists or Nurse if information in this
leaflet causes you special concern or if you want additional information
about your medicine and its use.
* Inform your doctor if you have any of these conditions : HIATAL HERNIA;
THROAT (ESOPHAGUS) PROBLEMS.
COMMON USES FOR THIS MEDICINE:
1- As an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of PERIODONTOSIS to scaling and
root planing to promote attachment level gain and to reduce pocket depth.
2- For the treatment of ACNE VULGARIS AND OTHER ACNE
3- For the treatment of LOCAL INFECTIONS OF SKIN AND SUBCUTANEOUS TISSUE
4- For the treatment of ACUTE UPPER RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS
5- For the treatment of LYMPHOGRANULOMA VENEREUM
6- For the treatment of ACUTE LOWER RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS
7- For the treatment of URINARY TRACT INFECTION
8- For the treatment of GRANULOMA INGUINALE only when proven or strongly
suspected to be caused gram-negative bacteria.
9- For the treatment of GONOCOCCAL INFECTIONS
10- For the treatment of AMEBIASIS
11- For the treatment of INFECTIONS OF THE OROPHARYNX - VINCENTS GINGIVITIS
& PHARYNGITIS
12- For Prophylaxis against MALARIA caused by susceptible strains.
13- For the treatment of EARLY SYPHILIS SYMPTOMATIC
Used to treat infections and to help control acne.
It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor
HOW TO USE THIS MEDICINE:
Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label unless instructed
differently by your doctor
* DO NOT give to infants or children up to eight years of age unless directed
by your doctor as it may cause permanent discoloration of teeth.
* This medicine should be taken WITH a full glass of water (6-8oz).
* Use this medicine for the full prescribed treatment period.
* Notify physician if symptoms do not improve or if they become worse.
* This medicine can be taken with or without food REGARDLESS of meal times.
If stomach upset occurs take with food.
* Start prophylactic treatment 2 weeks before travel to MALARIOUS areas and
continue for 4 additional weeks after return.
* DO NOT take milk dairy products ANTACIDS Calcium Magnesium or Iron
products within 2 hours of taking this medicine.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU MISS A DOSE:
Take when remembered unless time for next dose. No double doses.
HOW TO STORE THIS MEDICINE:
Keep in original closed container in a dark cool and dry place. Refrigerate
liquid forms and discard unused portion.
STOP TAKING THIS MEDICINE AND GET EMERGENCY HELP IMMEDIATELY IF ANY OF THE
FOLLOWING OCCURS (SEE SYMPTOMS BELOW):
Shortness of breath fast or irregular breathing fever joint pain fast
pulse lightheadedness or fainting swelling of face hives & itching.
CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY IF YOU EXPERIENCE:
Skin rash; Difficulty swallowing.
