BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE:
* Inform your Doctor or Pharmacist if you are allergic to any prescription or
non-prescription medicine; taking other medicines or have other medical
problems; pregnant planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
* Check with your Doctor Pharmacists or Nurse if information in this
leaflet causes you special concern or if you want additional information
about your medicine and its use.
* Inform your doctor if you have any of these conditions : If you are
PREGNANT; LIVER PROBLEMS.
COMMON USE FOR THIS MEDICINE:
1- For the management of ESSENTIAL HYPERTENSION used alone or in combination
with other agents.
2- For the treatment of DIABETIC NEPHROPATHY
It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor
HOW TO USE THIS MEDICINE:
Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label unless instructed
differently by your doctor
* Check your blood pressure regularly. Inform your doctor if blood pressure
is not controlled.
* Follow prescribed/recommended diet and exercise program.
* This medicine can be taken with or without food REGARDLESS of meal times.
If stomach upset occurs take with food.
* Use this medicine for the full prescribed treatment period.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU MISS A DOSE:
Take when remembered unless time for next dose. No double doses.
HOW TO STORE THIS MEDICINE:
Keep in original closed container in a dark cool and dry place away from
children. Discard unneeded medicine.
OTHER SIDE EFFECTS:
Respiratory infection; Dizziness; Cough; Back pain; Diarrhea; Nasal
congestion; Inflammation of the sinuses; Muscle pain; Leg pain / cramps;
Indigestion; Difficulty falling asleep; Muscle cramps.
If symptoms are mild but do not go away or are bothersome check with your
doctor. IF ANY OF THE ABOVE SIDE EFFECTS IS SEVERE CALL YOUR DOCTOR
IMMEDIATELY.
PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS:
* This medicine is CONTRAINDICATED for use during pregnancy. CALL YOUR DOCTOR
IMMEDIATELY IF PREGNANT or intend to become pregnant.
* Notify doctor if you are pregnant if pregnancy is suspected or if you
intend to become pregnant.
* This medicine may cause drowsiness dizziness or blurred vision. DO NOT
drive or operate machines until you know how you react to this medicine.
* This medicine SHOULD NOT BE USED during pregnancy UNLESS the potential
benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
* AVOID concurrent use of alcohol or other CNS depressants as it may
intensify the drowsiness dizziness or lightheadedness effect of this
medicine.
* AVOID SALT and HIGH SODIUM foods to help your blood pressure. Read food
labels to check salt or sodium content.
* Because of INTERACTIONS report the use of any other prescription or
nonprescription medicines including natural/herbal remedies to your doctor.
* The following foods are usually high in SODIUM: soup snack food(potato
chips) canned meat salad dressing ham bacon hot dogs and fast food.
* The results of some MEDICAL or LAB tests may be affected by this medicine.
