BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE:
* Inform your Doctor or Pharmacist if you are allergic to any prescription or
non-prescription medicine; taking other medicines or have other medical
problems; pregnant planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
* Check with your Doctor Pharmacists or Nurse if information in this
leaflet causes you special concern or if you want additional information
about your medicine and its use.
* Inform your doctor if you have any of these conditions : LIVER PROBLEMS.
COMMON USES FOR THIS MEDICINE:
1- For the treatment of mild to moderate acute bacterial exacerbation of
CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE [COPD] NOS
2- For the treatment of ACUTE SINUSITIS
3- For the treatment of ACUTE LOWER RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS
4- For the treatment of ACUTE UPPER RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS
5- For the treatment of ACUTE PHARYNGITIS
6- For the treatment of ACUTE TONSILLITIS
7- For the treatment of PNEUMONIA DUE TO OTHER SPECIFIED ORGANISM
8- For the treatment of ACUTE OTITIS MEDIA (SUPPURATIVE)
9- For the treatment of LOCAL INFECTIONS OF SKIN AND SUBCUTANEOUS TISSUE
10- For the treatment of CHANCROID
11- For the treatment of URETHRITIS NONGONOCOCCAL
12- For the treatment of CERVICITIS AND ENDOCERVICITIS
13- For the treatment of ACUTE GONORRHEA OF LOWER GU TRACT (URETHRITIS
VULVOVAGINITIS)
14- For the treatment of GONOCOCCAL CERVICITIS (ACUTE) OF UPPER
GENITOURINARY TRACT
15- For the treatment of MYCOBACTERIUM AVIUM COMPLEX (MAC)
16- For Prophylaxis against MYCOBACTERIUM AVIUM COMPLEX (MAC)
It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor
HOW TO USE THIS MEDICINE:
Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label unless instructed
differently by your doctor
* Use this medicine for the full prescribed treatment period.
* This medicine should be taken WITH a full glass of water (6-8oz).
* DO NOT take simultaneously with Aluminum- or Magnesium-containing antacids.
* This medicine can be taken with or without food REGARDLESS of meal times.
If stomach upset occurs take with food.
* SHAKE suspension well before using.
* Use within 10 days of reconstituting the suspension dosage form.
* ORAL SOLUTION: take 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating
WHAT TO DO IF YOU MISS A DOSE:
Take when remembered unless time for next dose. No double doses.
HOW TO STORE THIS MEDICINE:
Store at 15? to 30?C (59? to 86?F).
STOP TAKING THIS MEDICINE AND GET EMERGENCY HELP IMMEDIATELY IF ANY OF THE
FOLLOWING OCCURS (SEE SYMPTOMS BELOW):
Severe allergic reaction; Swelling usually of face or lips.
CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY IF YOU EXPERIENCE:
Hearing loss ear ringing unsteadiness; Itching; Yellowing of eyes or skin;
Kidney inflammation; Skin rash.
OTHER SIDE EFFECTS:
Stomach discomfort or pain; Decreased appetite; Nausea; Vomiting; Diarrhea;
Dizziness.
If symptoms are mild but do not go away or are bothersome check with your
doctor. IF ANY OF THE ABOVE SIDE EFFECTS IS SEVERE CALL YOUR DOCTOR
IMMEDIATELY.
