"BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE:
* Inform your Doctor or Pharmacist if you are allergic to any prescription or
non-prescription medicine; taking other medicines or have other medical
problems; pregnant planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
* Check with your Doctor Pharmacists or Nurse if information in this
leaflet causes you special concern or if you want additional information
about your medicine and its use.
* Inform your doctor if you have any of these conditions : DIABETES; LIVER
PROBLEMS; If you are PREGNANT.
COMMON USE FOR THIS MEDICINE:
1- For the treatment of HIV-1 INFECTION (HIV is the virus responsible for
AIDS and related symptoms) in patients who are highly treatment resistant or
have HIV-1 PI resistant strains
HOW TO USE THIS MEDICINE:
Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label unless instructed
differently by your doctor
* Patient should read specific ""PATIENT INFORMATION"" provided with this
medicine before starting treatment and each time their prescription is
renewed.
* Take this medicine WITH food a meal or a snack. Do not take on an empty
stomach.
* This medicine must be co-administered with 200mg of RITONAVIR to exert its
therapeutic effect.
* Swallow whole unless otherwise directed by your physician. DO NOT crush or
chew film-coated prepartations.
* This medicine is NOT A CURE. Patients need long-term management.
* Use this medicine for the full prescribed treatment period.
* Your doctor should check your progress at REGULAR VISITS to make sure this
medicine is working properly and to check for unwanted effects.
* Regular testing of LIVER FUNCTION including liver enzyme levels in blood
is essential.
* Refrigerate at 2-8 C (36-45 F) in tightly closed bottles.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU MISS A DOSE:
Take when remembered unless time for next dose. No double doses.
HOW TO STORE THIS MEDICINE:
Keep in original closed container in a dark cool and dry place away from
children. Discard unneeded medicine.
CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY IF YOU EXPERIENCE:
High blood sugar level.
OTHER SIDE EFFECTS:
Decreased appetite; Abdominal distention; Anemia; Indigestion; Increased
thirst; Dizziness; Fever; Flu-like symptoms; Gas; Gastro-esophageal reflux;
Liver problems; Difficulty falling asleep; Itching; Muscle cramps; Muscle
pain; Abnormal blood cell count; Numbness or tingling in hands and feet;
Inflammation of the pancreas; Changes in urination frequency or amount;
Abnormally low platelet count; Weight loss; Unusual tiredness or weakness;
Nausea; High cholesterol level; Diarrhea; High triglycerides level.
If symptoms are mild but do not go away or are bothersome check with your
doctor. IF ANY OF THE ABOVE SIDE EFFECTS IS SEVERE CALL YOUR DOCTOR
IMMEDIATELY.
PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS:
* Safety of use during pregnancy has not been established. This medicine
SHOULD NOT BE USED DURING PREGNANCY unless benefit justifies potential risk
