BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE:
* Inform your Doctor or Pharmacist if you are allergic to any prescription or
non-prescription medicine; taking other medicines or have other medical
problems; pregnant planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
* Check with your Doctor Pharmacists or Nurse if information in this
leaflet causes you special concern or if you want additional information
about your medicine and its use.
* Inform your doctor if you have any of these conditions : KIDNEY DISEASE;
LIVER PROBLEMS; THYROID problem.
COMMON USE FOR THIS MEDICINE:
1- For the treatment of type 2 DIABETES MELLITUS
2- For the treatment of type 1 DIABETES MELLITUS
HOW TO USE THIS MEDICINE:
Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label unless instructed
differently by your doctor
* DO NOT FREEZE. DISCARD PRODUCT IF IT HAS BEEN FROZEN
* Use opened vials within 28 days after opening. Discard any remaining
medication in opened vial after 28 days.
* For subcutaneous injection only.
* Take within 15 minutes before a meal or with 20 minutes after starting a
meal.
* DO NOT use if solution is discolored or contains particles. Solution must
be clear and colorless-to-white.
* Protect from light.
* Patients must receive full and complete instructions about the nature of
DIABETES and learn to self-monitor blood glucose.
* A reduced-calorie DIET and increased physical activity are usually part of
the treatment regimen. Follow prescribed diet and exercise programs.
* Use same type and brand syringe to avoid dosage errors. Rotate site to
prevent lipodystrophy. If using pen-filled device follow instructions for
use.
* Determine the time number and amount of individual doses and distribution
of food among the meals of the day.
* Use this medicine for the full prescribed treatment period.
* The patient may self-administer the INJECTION. Follow doctors instructions
for administration and proper disposal of syringes and needles carefully.
* Insulin requirements may change in patients who become ill especially with
vomiting or fever. Consult your physician.
* Insulin stored at room temperature will be less painful to inject.Allow
refrigerator-stored insulin to come to room temperature prior to injecting
it.
* DO NOT CHANGE BRANDS without consulting the physician or pharmacist.
* Taking alcohol with this product may decrease blood-sugar.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU MISS A DOSE:
If you miss a dose omit missed dose completely; resume regular schedule. No
double doses.
HOW TO STORE THIS MEDICINE:
Refrigerate unopened bottles; do not freeze. Store open bottles in a cool
dark place. Discard unneeded medicine.
STOP TAKING THIS MEDICINE AND GET EMERGENCY HELP IMMEDIATELY IF ANY OF THE
FOLLOWING OCCURS (SEE SYMPTOMS BELOW):
Severe allergic reaction; Shortness of breath fast or irregular breathing
fever joint pain fast pulse lightheadedness or fainting swelling of face
hives & itching; Sweating; Skin rash; Shortness of breath; Irregular
heartbeat; Low blood pressure; Swelling usually of face or lips.
